Background<\/strong>\u202f\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Access Center for Human Rights (ACHR) is a non-profit and non-governmental human rights organization based in Beirut and Paris, founded in 2017 in Lebanon, and re-established in France in 2020, and includes a group of activists with experience in law, as well as local and international advocacy.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

ACHR launched its activities in Lebanon, due to its belief in supporting refugee rights, at a time of a rise in serious violations against them. ACHR is specialized in observing the human rights refugee situation and publishes periodic publications on mass violations with the aim of raising awareness and international advocacy to ensure the right to human dignity in the countries of asylum until their voluntary, dignified, and safe return to their country of origin. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

ABOUT THE POSITION<\/strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Researcher will be responsible to carry out comprehensive research and contribute to the overall production of written content using ACHR research methodologies and its database analysis. The Researcher will work under the direct supervision of the Project Coordinator of M&D unit and the overall supervision of the Program Manager and will be carrying out her\/his duties in accordance with ACHR mandate and technically coordinating with the field team.   <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Contract Period<\/strong>:\u00a0until the end of December 2021, with possibility of one year extension.\u00a0
Contract\u00a0Type:<\/strong>\u00a0full time contract, with\u00a01-month\u00a0probation review period.\u00a0
Location<\/strong>: Remote work with possibility of travel.\u202f\u202f\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SCOPE OF WORK<\/strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Undertake desk review and\/or interview with various stakeholders to get\u00a0first-hand practical experiences.\u00a0<\/li>
  2. Conduct desk research on the relevant matters of the studies, academic\u00a0research,\u00a0historical research,\u00a0and other relevant materials.\u00a0<\/li>
  3. Assist in executing planned conferences, meetings,\u00a0and symposiums.\u00a0<\/li>
  4. Prepare and draft data, papers,\u00a0and reports on violations cases.\u00a0<\/li>
  5. Perform analysis of information in the database.\u00a0<\/li>
  6. Develop methodologies and research work policies and develop an\u00a0accurate action plan.\u00a0<\/li>
  7. Maintain contact with victims, their families, lawyers,\u00a0or other relevant\u00a0sources to inform them of the developments of the cases, the\u00a0confidentiality, privacy,\u00a0and safety of the victims.\u00a0<\/li>
  8. Assist\u00a0the project\u00a0coordinator\u00a0to\u00a0follow up on the implementation of the\u00a0workflow, according to the tasks assigned; and\u00a0<\/li>
  9. Perform other\u00a0relevant project related tasks\u00a0according to the request of ACHR.\u00a0<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n

    KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS\u202f<\/span><\/span>\u202f<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n

    Education and Experience:<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    • Bachelor\u2019s degree, law, or related fields; the degree may not be required if applicant has demonstrated that he\/she has extensive experience in research and documentation. <\/li>
    • Demonstrated depth of experience and effectiveness preferably in a research context in working with community\/grassroots people and organizations. <\/li>
    • Fluency in English and in Arabic is essential. <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n

      Soft Skills:<\/strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

      • Excellent research writing and editing\u00a0skills;\u00a0\u00a0<\/li>
      • Excellent legal analytical\u00a0skills;\u00a0<\/li>
      • Strong organizational and programmatic skills\u00a0\u00a0<\/li>
      • Able to take initiative and work well independently and as part of a team\u00a0\u00a0<\/li>
      • Remote management skills.\u00a0<\/li>
      • Coordination skills, problem solving, and flexibility in dealing with the team\u00a0<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n

        Technical Skills:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

        • Comfort with using email\/Zoom\/ MS Teams and instant messaging as a primary means of communication is a must. <\/li>
        • Good computer skills, including knowledge of Word and Excel.  <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n

          Working conditions:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

          • The possibility of working outside office hours.\u00a0\u201cimportant\u201d\u00a0<\/li>
          • The possibility of frequent travel outside Lebanon.\u00a0<\/li>
          • The possibility of working under pressure. “important”\u00a0<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n

            EVALUATION CRITERIA:<\/strong>\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

            • Accuracy of research content\u00a0\u00a0<\/li>
            • Proficiency in drafting content in both Arabic and English\u00a0\u00a0<\/li>
            • The ability to develop and adhere to an action plan.\u00a0<\/li>
