DESCRIPTION:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

About the Position: <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

ACHR seeks to recruit a research intern within the Monitoring and Documentation Unit. The research intern will mainly be assisting in research tasks and database analysis under the direct supervision of M&D Unit on human rights violations against Syrian refugees in Lebanon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Scope of Work: <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The scope of work of the internship includes, but is not limited to, the following activities:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Undertake desk review on relevant matters regarding Syrian refugees in media, governmental and non-governmental outputs.
\u2022 Prepare research memos on human rights violations against Syrian refugees;
\u2022 Perform analysis of information in the database;
\u2022 Assisting in other project implementation related tasks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Education: <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 A student or recent graduate in law, political science, international relations or other related fields, education may not be required if the applicant has demonstrated interest in the human rights field.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Qualifications:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 High proficiency in Arabic (reading, writing and speaking) and good command of the English language.
\u2022 Demonstrated interest in human rights issues;
\u2022 Knowledge of the legal and social context related to Syrian refugees in Lebanon;
\u2022 Good knowledge and understanding of legal terms, Lebanese laws and international conventions;
\u2022 Good research, academic writing, and analytical skills; 
\u2022 Organized, flexible, detail oriented and able to work in a fast-paced environment. \u201cVery Important\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Technical Skills:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Comfort with using email\/Zoom\/MS Teams and instant messaging as a primary means of communication is a must<\/strong> 
\u2022 Good computer skills, primarily knowledge of Word and Excel. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Working conditions:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Start date is mid-January 2021.
\u2022 Three months period.
\u2022 Part-time.
\u2022 Paid\/Compensated.
\u2022 Possibility of remote work.
